Your Diamond Won’t Hold Value — and That’s Okay
By Jasmine Waltz
Resale value is a big concern, but here’s the truth: most diamonds, lab or mined, don’t hold strong resale value. Unless it’s a rare collector’s stone, even natural diamonds lose value the moment you buy them.
A $70K ring? You’ll be lucky to get $20K back. That’s not a lab diamond problem. It’s a luxury markup problem. What truly holds value is the gold and the craftsmanship.
So if both types lose value anyway, why not choose the diamond that’s more ethical, more sustainable, and more fairly priced?
Because in the end, it’s not about resale. It’s about quality, intention, and making a choice you can be proud of.
